*Food Service

Simpson Park Camp is a Christian Campground located at Gates and Campground Roads in Romeo, MI.  We are looking to create a team of reliable, service-oriented people to staff our seasonal food-service program.  We have the following opportunities for your consideration:

  • Lead Cook: to prepare meals for camps and retreats throughout the summer

Job responsibilities may include:

  1. Food preparation, service, Inventory, ordering, substitutions, and food allergies

  2. Staff Supervision, kitchen clean-up, dishwashing

  3. Serve safe certification and knowledge of standard food storage practices

 

  • Menus are pre-approved, and in accordance with serve safe culinary requirements.  We offer a safe and sanitary work environment, licensed and approved by the State of Michigan and Macomb County. 

If you have food service experience or are enrolled in a post-secondary culinary program, we would love to talk to you.  This would be a part-time, seasonal position beginning in June through August.  Pay for this position is $25/hour and there will be weeks where work beyond 40 hours is expected.

 

While we have many camps throughout the summer, we need a food service lead during the following camps:

  • June 22-27                July 20-28              August 5-9             August 12-17          August 18-23

​

Depending on the size of the group you may have additional workers to supervise and help you in this assignment.  If you like to make connections and build relationships while gaining some commercial kitchen experience perhaps we might be the right fit for you.   

 

Since 1865, Simpson Park Camp has nurtured spiritual revival and good old-fashioned relationship building in Michigan. With 77 buildings and cottages on 55 acres, our rustic Victorian era setting offers a unique and distraction-free environment for important gatherings.
